Called to serve at the Eucharist?

Picture
Did you know that Church services
are not just for adults?

In fact children are an important part of

the Church community and can play vital roles
during our services.

From being involved
in telling stories
and prayers
to helping the priest at the altar
during a service of the eucharist.

Standard Eucharists
At every Eucharist in the Benefice servers assist the Priest leading the people in prayer.  As well as assisting the Priest during the preparation of the bread and wine at the altar, servers also perform other roles.  There are many types of server: crucifers carry the cross during the service during any processions; acolytes carry candles during processions; thurifers carry the incense burner and assist in censing the gifts of the altar and the people in the congregation.  We encourage children and young people to be involved in any and all of these roles if they wish to be.
Please contact one of our ministry team if you're interested in helping in this way during our services.

All Age Eucharists
At all age services, in addition to the above roles, children are often involved in helping tell the bible story or leading prayers, or reading.  If you're interesting in being involved in one of our all age or family services, just come along on the day.  You can find out when our next all age service is in our worship section.
If you want to find out more details in advance please contact one of our ministry team.
